Terms of Service

1. Overview

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of the Angkor TukTuk Tours website and the booking of our private Tuk-Tuk tour services in Siem Reap, Cambodia. By booking a tour or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Services Provided

Angkor TukTuk Tours provides private Tuk-Tuk transportation services for visitors to the Angkor Archaeological Park and surrounding areas in Siem Reap. Our services include:

  • Private Tuk-Tuk tours of the Small Circle, Big Circle, and other temple routes.
  • Sunrise and sunset tour transportation.
  • Airport and bus station transfers.
  • Custom itinerary tours upon request.
  • Complimentary cold bottled water during all tours.

Please note that we provide transportation services only. Our role is to drive you safely to each temple location and wait at the designated parking area while you explore the sites independently. We are not a licensed tour guide service and do not provide guided commentary inside the temples.

Language: Our driver speaks limited English but is able to communicate and understand basic conversations. We kindly ask that you speak slowly and use simple words when talking with the driver during the tour. For detailed or complex questions before your trip, we recommend contacting us in advance via WhatsApp, WeChat, or Email so we can prepare and assist you properly.

3. Booking and Confirmation

All bookings are made directly through WhatsApp, WeChat, or Email. A booking is considered confirmed once you receive a confirmation message from us with your agreed pick-up time, location, and tour itinerary.

Please provide accurate information including your full name, hotel name, and any relevant arrival details to ensure a smooth pick-up experience.

4. Pricing and Payment

  • All tour prices are listed on our website and are quoted in US Dollars (USD).
  • Payment is made in cash upon arrival or at the completion of the tour. No advance deposit is required.
  • We accept US Dollars (USD) and Cambodian Riel (KHR).
  • Please bring clean, undamaged US dollar bills. Torn, marked, or heavily worn bills are commonly refused by businesses throughout Cambodia.
  • The Angkor Pass (temple entrance ticket) is not included in our tour price and must be purchased separately by each visitor at the official Angkor Enterprise ticket office.

5. Cancellation Policy

  • Free Cancellation: You may cancel or reschedule your tour free of charge if you notify us at least 12 hours before your scheduled pick-up time via WhatsApp, WeChat, or Email.
  • Late Cancellation: Cancellations made less than 12 hours before the scheduled pick-up time are considered late cancellations. While we understand that travel plans can change unexpectedly, repeated late cancellations may result in future bookings requiring a confirmed deposit.
  • No-Show: If you do not appear at the agreed pick-up location within 30 minutes of the scheduled time and we are unable to reach you through your provided contact details, the booking will be considered a no-show. As a small, independent operator, no-shows directly impact our livelihood. We kindly ask that you always notify us of any changes to your plans.
  • Cancellation by Us: In rare circumstances (such as a vehicle breakdown, personal emergency, or severe weather), we may need to cancel your tour. In such cases, we will notify you as early as possible and work with you to reschedule at no additional cost.

6. Non-Payment and Disputes

Payment for services rendered is expected at the completion of every tour. Refusal to pay for services that have been fully provided is considered a breach of this agreement.

Under Cambodian law, refusal to pay for services received may constitute fraud and can be reported to the Tourist Police (Department of Tourism Police, Siem Reap). The Tourist Police assist in resolving disputes between service providers and visitors. We reserve the right to file a formal complaint and pursue all available legal remedies under the laws of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

We believe in honest, fair service and trust that our guests will honor their commitments. If there is any issue with your experience, please speak with us directly so we can resolve it before the tour ends.

7. Weather Conditions

Siem Reap has a tropical monsoon climate. Brief rain showers are common throughout the year, especially during the wet season (May–October). Our Tuk-Tuk is equipped with rain covers and plastic curtains to keep you dry and comfortable.

  • Light to Moderate Rain: Tours proceed as scheduled. Light rain can actually make temple visits more enjoyable as the crowds thin out and the stone surfaces glisten beautifully. The decision to continue or pause is always yours.
  • Heavy Rain: If heavy rain occurs during the tour, we will find a safe, sheltered spot to wait it out. Tropical downpours in Siem Reap typically pass within 30–60 minutes.
  • Severe Weather Alerts: If the Cambodian government or local authorities issue a severe weather warning (such as tropical storms, flooding alerts, or dangerous wind conditions), we will cancel or postpone the tour for your safety. In this case, we will reschedule your tour to another date at no extra charge.

Rainy Season Tips: We recommend bringing a light rain jacket or poncho, wearing waterproof sandals or shoes with good grip (temple steps become slippery when wet), and carrying a small dry bag to protect your phone and camera. Umbrellas are also helpful but may not be allowed inside certain narrow temple corridors.

8. Temple Operating Hours and Itinerary Changes

The temples within the Angkor Archaeological Park generally operate on the following schedule:

  • Angkor Wat: 5:00 AM – 5:30 PM (opens early for sunrise visits).
  • Most Other Temples (Bayon, Ta Prohm, Banteay Srei, etc.): 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM.
  • Phnom Bakheng (sunset hill): Opens at 5:00 AM, last entry for sunset at 5:30 PM, closes at 7:00 PM.
  • Pre Rup (sunset alternative): Same hours as other temples, but popular for sunset.

Temple closures during normal operating hours are extremely rare. In the unlikely event that a specific temple is temporarily closed (for restoration work, a special ceremony, or an official event by the Apsara Authority), we will simply skip that stop and move to the next temple on your itinerary. This will not affect the rest of your tour or its price.

If you would like to visit a substitute temple instead, we are happy to accommodate that request.

9. Passenger Capacity and Conduct

  • Our Tuk-Tuk can accommodate a maximum of 4 adult passengers per trip.
  • Passengers are expected to behave respectfully at all temple sites, follow the dress code regulations (shoulders and knees must be covered), and adhere to the rules set by the Apsara Authority.
  • Smoking, consumption of illegal substances, and disruptive behavior are not permitted during the tour.
  • We reserve the right to end a tour early without refund if a passenger engages in behavior that is unsafe, illegal, or disrespectful to local customs and sacred sites.

10. Liability and Disclaimer

Our service is limited to transporting you safely to and from each temple site. Once we arrive at a location, you explore the temples, restaurants, and other areas independently while we wait at the designated parking area.

  • We are not liable for any personal injury, illness, heat stroke, or accident that occurs while you are exploring temples, climbing structures, or walking through sites independently.
  • We are not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings at temples, restaurants, hotels, or any other location outside of our Tuk-Tuk. Please keep your valuables secure and within sight at all times.
  • Items Left in the Tuk-Tuk: If you accidentally leave any personal belongings in our Tuk-Tuk after the tour, we will make every effort to contact you and arrange the return of your items.
  • We are not liable for delays caused by factors beyond our control, including traffic congestion, road conditions, police checkpoints, or actions by local authorities.

We strongly recommend that all travelers purchase comprehensive travel insurance that covers medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and personal belongings before visiting Cambodia.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Any disputes arising from the use of our services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Siem Reap, Cambodia. For visitor-related disputes, the Siem Reap Tourist Police (contactable at local police stations or through your hotel) can serve as a first point of mediation.

13. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
