Angkor Wat Small & Big Circle — 2 Days

$45 per Tuk-Tuk
Tour Overview

The 2 Day Tour is the ideal choice for travelers who want to experience the full breadth of the Angkor Archaeological Park without feeling rushed. On Day 1, you will follow the classic Small Circle route, catching the legendary sunrise at Angkor Wat and visiting the most famous temples. On Day 2, you will explore the quieter, more remote Big Circle, finishing with a stunning sunset from Pre Rup temple.

The Big Circle (also known as the Grand Circuit) takes you deeper into the park to discover temples that most single-day visitors never see. Preah Khan is a sprawling monastery that rivals Ta Prohm in atmosphere, Neak Pean sits on a small island surrounded by water, and Pre Rup offers one of the most breathtaking sunset views in all of Siem Reap.

By splitting your visit across two days, you avoid temple fatigue and have time to truly appreciate each site. A 3-day Angkor Pass is required for this tour.

Temple Stops

Day 1: Sunrise & Small Circle
Angkor Wat Sunrise at the Reflection Pond

Angkor Wat Sunrise at the Reflection Pond

We arrive before dawn to watch the sun rise behind the five iconic towers of Angkor Wat, reflected perfectly in the still water of the pond. After sunrise, explore the 800-meter bas-relief gallery, the central tower climb, and the thousands of Apsara dancer carvings throughout the complex.

South Gate of Angkor Thom

South Gate of Angkor Thom

The grand entrance to the walled city of Angkor Thom. The causeway is lined with 54 Deva gods and 54 Asura demons pulling a giant Naga serpent, representing the Hindu myth of the Churning of the Ocean of Milk.

Bayon Temple

Bayon Temple

The temple of 216 giant stone faces. Each face displays a serene, enigmatic smile. The lower galleries contain incredible bas-reliefs depicting daily life in the ancient Khmer Empire, market scenes, naval battles, and religious ceremonies.

Baphuon, Phimeanakas & The Terraces

Baphuon, Phimeanakas & The Terraces

Explore the massive Baphuon temple mountain with its hidden reclining Buddha, the steep pyramid of Phimeanakas within the Royal Palace grounds, the 300-meter Terrace of the Elephants, and the beautifully carved inner walls of the Terrace of the Leper King.

Ta Prohm (The Tomb Raider Temple)

Ta Prohm (The Tomb Raider Temple)

Giant Silk-Cotton and Strangler Fig trees have consumed the walls, doorways, and towers of this atmospheric temple. Left deliberately unrestored, Ta Prohm shows the raw power of nature reclaiming ancient stonework. Made world-famous by the Tomb Raider movie.

Banteay Kdei & Sra Srang

Banteay Kdei & Sra Srang

A peaceful Buddhist monastery with beautiful Apsara carvings, followed by a rest at the serene 700-meter royal bathing pool of Sra Srang. A perfect way to end Day 1.

Day 2: Big Circle
Preah Khan (The Sacred Sword)

Preah Khan (The Sacred Sword)

One of the largest temple complexes in Angkor, Preah Khan was a Buddhist monastery, university, and city that once housed over 100,000 people. The long corridors stretch for hundreds of meters, passing through carved doorways, moss-covered galleries, and the unique two-story round-columned building (the only structure of its kind in Angkor). Look for the Hall of Dancers with its rows of carved Apsara figures.

Neak Pean (The Island Temple)

Neak Pean (The Island Temple)

A unique circular temple built on an artificial island in the middle of a large baray (reservoir). You reach it by walking along a wooden boardwalk over the water, surrounded by flooded trees, especially beautiful during the wet season. The central tower sits on intertwining Naga serpents, and four smaller pools surround it, each with a different carved spout (human, horse, elephant, and lion).

Ta Som

Ta Som

A small but charming temple with a famous eastern gate completely engulfed by the roots of a giant Strangler Fig tree. Similar to Ta Prohm but with far fewer visitors, making it a wonderful place for quiet exploration and photography.

East Mebon

East Mebon

Once an island temple in the center of the massive East Baray reservoir, East Mebon now sits on dry land. The temple is guarded by life-sized stone elephant statues at each corner of its platforms, and the brick towers still show remnants of their original stucco decoration.

Pre Rup Sunset Temple

Pre Rup Sunset Temple

The grand finale of Day 2. Pre Rup is an ancient cremation temple with steep brick towers rising above the jungle canopy. Climb to the top platform for one of the most spectacular sunset views in all of Siem Reap. Watch the sky turn gold and orange as the sun drops below the distant treeline. This is the perfect way to end your two-day Angkor experience.
